‘Sonic Nomads’
for Roark
‘Sonic Nomads’ is a pioneering music release, marking Roark as the first surf and outdoor brand to create artist-led, all original music as a sonic pillar of its brand identity.
‘Sonic Nomads’ is a 32-minute music track designed for running, with intentional bpm’s ranging from 126 to 150 bpm. The track, made with a blend of modular synthesizers, binaural frequencies and organic instruments, has been trialed and tested by runners across the world.
Not only does ‘Sonic Nomads’ contribute to a more sustainable creative industry, but it actively engages with a key demographic of the Roark community—runners.
All streaming royalties, across all platforms, from ‘Sonic Nomads’ are being donated to the not-profit, Runners for Public Lands.

Matt Costa is a Grammy-nominated, Billboard #1 charting, multi-genre songwriter and filmmaker.
With a storied career spanning two decades, he has toured with artists such as Modest Mouse, Jack Johnson and Oasis; appeared at Sundance; scored award-winning films and television; and continues to play shows around the world.
From Bluebird Studios in Laguna Beach, he produces and records artists from across the US, helping both established and developing artists find and hone their sound.
